JOB DESCRIPTION: The LAP Data & Evaluation Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of data tracking, reporting, and evaluation for the Lethality Assessment Protocol (LAP) program. This position ensures accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of LAP screening activities, referrals, and outcomes. The Specialist works closely with internal staff, law enforcement, and research partners to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous quality

improvement. This role plays a critical part in advancing data-driven strategies that support the safety and recovery of high-risk domestic violence victims

Reporting Structure:

The LAP Data & Evaluation Specialist reports directly to the LAP Program Director and collaborates with YWCA advocacy staff, the Memphis Police Department, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), and the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP) to support evaluation and performance measurement activities related to LAP.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records of all LAP screenings, high-danger referrals, and service engagement.

  • Enter and manage data in approved platforms in accordance with OCJP and VCIF grant requirements.

  • Conduct regular data audits to ensure quality, accuracy, and integrity of records.

  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for internal use, funders, and research partners.

  • Support development of dashboards, summaries, and data visualizations to guide decision-making.

  • Collaborate with research partners (e.g., UTHSC) to provide datasets, documentation, and support for program evaluation.

  • Review and interpret evaluation findings, and support integration of insights into LAP program planning.

  • Monitor trends and performance indicators to identify gaps in service delivery and opportunities for improvement.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, LAP team meetings, and quality assurance discussions.

  • Maintain documentation of reporting deadlines, deliverables, and data submission logs.

  • Coordinate with YWCA staff and MPD personnel to ensure timely, complete data collection at each referral point.

  • Contribute to staff and partner training by sharing insights on data trends and recurring reporting issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permit to work in the U.S.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and submit to drug testing if requested

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Criminal Justice, Social Science, Data Analytics, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in data management, grant reporting, or program evaluation, preferably in a nonprofit, law enforcement, or victim services setting.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting platforms; experience with case management databases preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to present data in a clear, actionable format.

  • Experience collaborating with cross-sector partners and research institutions.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Commitment to trauma-informed, victim-centered, and culturally responsive approaches.

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity.
