Position: YWCA Greater Memphis LAP Program Director

RESPONSIBLE TO: Executive Director of YWCA Greater Memphis

JOB DESCRIPTION: The LAP Program Director oversees the successful implementation and daily operations of the LAP initiative. This individual coordinates with law enforcement partners, ensures fidelity to the LAP model, supervises LAP advocates, and manages data collection, reporting, and evaluation efforts.

Reporting Structure:

The LAP Program Director reports directly to the Executive Director of YWCA Greater Memphis and works collaboratively with the Memphis Police Department, the Shelby County

Sheriff’s Office, and the Tennessee Office of Criminal Justice Programs (OCJP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as primary liaison between the YWCA, MPD, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and other  community partners. 

  • Oversees LAP screening, response, and referral systems. 

  • Ensures staff compliance with LAP protocols and trauma-informed practices. • Coordinates technical assistance and training with MNADV. 

  • Analyzes data and prepares regular reports for stakeholders and funders. • Develops and implements standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and effective  LAP service delivery across partner sites. 

  • Provides supervision, coaching, and professional development opportunities for LAP advocates  and response team staff. 

  • Coordinates emergency response and follow-up with law enforcement for high-risk victims  identified through the LAP screening process. 

  • Collaborates with partner agencies to strengthen referral pathways for shelter, counseling,  relocation, and wraparound victim services. 

  • Participates in multidisciplinary meetings, task forces, and community engagement events to  promote LAP awareness and cross-system collaboration. 

  • Maintains accurate documentation, case management records, and compliance with  confidentiality and data-sharing agreements. 

  • Supports budget tracking and reporting in coordination with the Finance and Grants  Management teams to ensure adherence to OCJP and grant fiscal standards. • Assists with community outreach, education, and prevention initiatives related to domestic  violence intervention and public safety. 

  • Evaluates program outcomes and recommends adjustments based on data trends, stakeholder  feedback, and performance indicators.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Documents interactions with residents for file

  • Compile information and data to ensure proper reporting

  • Supports the mission of the DV Shelter and the mission of the YWCA Greater Memphis.

  • Performs other related duties as deemed necessary or as delegated by the Shelter Coordinator

  • Assist with transportation of client, services, and goods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other related fields with one (1) year of case management experience or five (5) years of experience working in the domestic violence field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge of domestic violence and needs of victims of domestic violence

  • Knowledge of community agencies and resources

  • Strong listening and reflective response skills, oral and written communication skills, case management skills, and computer or word processing skills

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Able to walk up a flight of stairs

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a permit to work in the U.S.

  • Must be able to pass a background check and submit to drug testing if requested

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field  required; Master’s degree preferred. 

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in program management,  victim services, or law enforcement collaboration. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence dynamics, trauma-informed care, and evidence based intervention models.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary  partnerships. 

  • Proficiency in data management, reporting systems, and outcome-based program evaluation. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
